SCIENTIFIC NAME: CORYPHAENA HIPPURUS

Mahi-mahi is a very interesting species of fish, they can be found dwelling in tropical and subtropical regions of the world including the Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean, and Gulf of Mexico. Mahi-mahi can span from dwelling as far north as Massachusetts and south to Texas. They have a significant presence in the Pacific Ocean, mainly around Hawaii. This open-ocean fish is highly migratory and lives in depths of up to approximately 300 ft.

In terms of flavor and texture, you can expect mahi-mahi to carry a semi-mild to mild taste, kissed with a touch of ocean sweetness. As for texture, it is somewhat comparable to a hybrid between swordfish and halibut, having an alike flakiness as halibut and dense meat like swordfish.
