Cod can be found in the Northwest Atlantic Ocean, primarily from Greenland to Cape Hatteras. Georges Bank to the western Gulf of Maine is a popular dwelling ground for cod, due to the ideal conditions that exist there. Cod live in cold ocean water depths of up to 500 ft, preferring a habitat that has a coarse-like ocean floor. When it comes to taste and texture, cod comes in with a flaky white flesh and a very mild flavor with a touch of ocean sweetness.
